Angivore emotional wellness app showing mood tracking, AI chatbot, and journaling screens
The Context

A wellness companion, not a clinical questionnaire.

Angivore turns daily check-ins, voice journaling and an AI chatbot into themes a person can act on — with streaks that don't punish a missed day, offline support for low-connectivity users, privacy-first handling of sensitive data, and a premium tier behind it.

The client's vision was a single app that combined mood tracking, journaling, AI-powered insights, and gamification — with offline support for users in low-connectivity areas, privacy-first data handling for sensitive mental health data, and a subscription model that converted free users into paying ones.

The Challenge

Mental health tracking was scattered, clinical, and unengaging.

People struggling with their emotional wellbeing had no easy way to log moods daily, reflect through journaling, or spot patterns over time. Existing apps felt clinical or overwhelming — and most users abandoned them within a week because there was nothing to keep them coming back.

No personalized AI guidance, no engaging elements to build habits, and premium features locked behind poor UX. Users needed a supportive, non-stigmatizing companion that felt more like a friend than a medical tool.

Our Approach

Scope before code.

One product, multiple complex systems — AI integration, offline sync, gamification, and subscriptions — all mapped before a line of code was written. The decisions that kept a sensitive, AI-powered wellness app on track:

One codebase, both stores.

Flutter for iOS and Android — one team, one timeline, no feature drift between platforms. Every future feature ships once.

Privacy-first architecture.

Encrypted journals, secure authentication, and strict data-handling controls from day one — because mood entries and journals are the most sensitive data a user can share.

Offline-first for real users.

Mood logging and basic journaling work without internet, with cloud sync when connectivity returns — because wellness habits shouldn't depend on signal strength.

AI balanced for safety and cost.

Conversational AI chatbot and personalized insights built with non-diagnostic, supportive tone — and inference costs managed so the feature is sustainable at scale.

Weekly demos kept the client iterating on the mood flows and AI tone — getting the emotional register right before launch.

The Impact

What this means in practice.

01

Angivore is live on the App Store and Google Play — giving users a private, engaging space to understand and track their emotional wellbeing.

02

Daily mood check-ins with reminders and streaks replaced the inconsistent, forgotten logging that caused users to abandon every previous tool they tried.

03

Text and audio journaling with offline support means users can capture their thoughts anywhere — no internet required, synced when connectivity returns.

04

The AI chatbot gives users a non-judgmental space for reflection and personalized coping suggestions — without the clinical tone that makes most mental health apps feel intimidating.

05

Gamification — streaks, challenges, badges — turned a daily habit into something users actually want to maintain, designed to reduce early churn from the first week.

06

The premium subscription unlocks deeper AI insights and advanced analytics — giving users a clear reason to upgrade after experiencing the core value.

07

Privacy-first architecture with encrypted journals and secure auth means users can trust the app with their most sensitive thoughts.

08

One Flutter codebase means every future feature — new AI models, new challenge types, new analytics — ships to iOS and Android simultaneously.

Mental Health & Wellness App Development — Questions Founders Ask Us

A focused mood-tracking and journaling MVP starts around $15K with our team. AI-powered platforms like Angivore — chatbot, insights, gamification, subscriptions, and an admin panel — typically run $30K–$60K. You'll get an exact figure after a free consultation; we scope from a product we've already shipped.

Honest answer: usually not. HIPAA applies when health data is handled for covered entities like providers and insurers; a consumer wellness app that makes no diagnostic claims typically falls outside it. We build privacy-first regardless — encrypted storage, secure authentication, strict data controls — and if your roadmap includes therapists, employers, or insurers, we architect for HIPAA requirements from day one, alongside your compliance counsel.

Our rule across every health build: AI informs, it never diagnoses. Angivore's chatbot keeps a supportive, non-clinical tone, insights are framed as reflection rather than assessment, and crisis support belongs with humans and hotlines — not a model. We also engineer inference costs so the AI feature is sustainable at scale, not a demo that dies at 10,000 users.

A journaling and mood-tracking MVP launches in a few months. AI-powered platforms like Angivore take longer — the industry norm is 6–12 months, and we took Angivore from concept to both stores in about eight, with working software demoed every Friday.
